Briskfire.com was founded nearly 2 years ago by Jim.
It started life as a website monitoring the load and server application running on one home server set up by myself.
The URL for this site was j-server.cjb.net.
Over time i got more into web design and learned more php and mysql. I then made a new site and bought a domain name called briskfire.com. The site was very basic and didnt have much on it. I had to update it by opening up each php file and adding, removing and editing content.
After a few more months i remade the site again, this time it was fluid in height but fixed in width at 780px. The site gained quite alot of visitors but after a while died down as i just didnt have time anymore to edit the files and add new content. So the site lay dormant for the next year or so. After a year i decided it was time i needed to sort the site out properly and make it easy to update and manage. So in the early summer of July 2005 i compleltly redesigned the site on photoshop and coded it up with dreamweaver using php and mysql. I constructed the site to compleltly database driven. Infact every single word you see on the site is called from a mysql database.
The website is hosted on a home server on a DSL broadband connection. The sever is running the Red Hat 9 distrobution of linux. Other websites also run on the server along with a psybnc server and half life counterstrike server.
